Dymo label printers use a process called thermal printing. Dymo LabelWriter® printers use a thermal print head and chemically treated labels or paper. The printer sends a current of electricity to the thermal print head, which generates heat on specific areas of the print head. The heat then activates the heat-sensitive dye in the paper or labels, which changes colors when heated and gives you your imprint. The greatest benefit of direct thermal printing with a Dymo label printer is that there is no need for ink, toner or ribbons.
There are many different types of Dymo printers that are used both industrially and for home use. At Nev’s Ink, we specialize in labels for Dymo LabelWriter® printers.
For these printers, there are three different types of labels.
Dymo Standard Labels:Â The standard direct thermal material is made of a smooth bright white paper that is coated with an adhesive conducive to all temperatures. It is best for large-scale printing and is typically used for shipping and barcoded labels.
Dymo Removable Labels: Like the standard labels the removable labels are smooth and bright white. They are backed with a removable adhesive that adheres great without sacrificing its ability to hold. Nev’s Ink’s removable adhesive ensures that no sticky residue is left behind.
Dymo Weatherproof Labels:Â Our weatherproof labels have a synthetic white matte face sheet that is top-coated for direct thermal printing. These labels are recommended for use when the environment is moist and can withstand freezer conditions.
