Day Labels
One of the most commonly used labels in the kitchen, day labels are used on almost every food item that is prepared in a kitchen. Day labels come in two different sizes: 1 circles and 2 circles. Day labels come imprinted with MON, TUE, WED, THU, FRI, SAT and SUN. One set of day labels comes with the corresponding days written in Spanish: lunes, martes, mircoles, jueves, viernes, sbado, and domingo. Day dot labels have corresponding colors: Monday -- blue, Tuesday -- yellow, Wednesday -- red, Thursday -- brown, Friday -- green, Saturday -- orange, and Sunday -- black. There is space below the day on day labels for one to write in a specific date. This date is most often the expiration date. Thus, when setting up for the day, an employee can do a quick spot check for day dot labels that are a specific color (the day that would be expired). Day labels are a necessary part of the dietary department and can be utilized alongside dissolvable labels and diet information labels to educate patients and hospital staff on the food one is ingesting.
