Instrument marking tape is used to differentiate amongst doctors instruments that are specific to them. That is, one doctors instruments are identified with blue tape; whereas, another doctors instruments are identified with red instrument marking tape when placed into a larger batch to go through the sterilization process. Instrument marking tape does not indicate having gone through the steam sterilization process; rather, it differentiates each doctors instruments. Instrument marking tape comes in a wide assortment of colors including the following: aluminum, black, blue, brown, green, orange, red, white and yellow.
